Minneapolis school building collapses following explosi…

A building on a school campus in Minneapolis has collapsed following an explosion caused by a gas leak.

The explosion occurred on the campus of the Minnehaha Academy, a Christian private school located near the city center.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, at least one person is currently trapped beneath the rubble. The department originally tweeted that a fatality had occurred, but later walked back their statement.

Minnehaha Academy’s website says that it is holding summer programs through Aug. 14, meaning students were likely on campus at the time of the explosion. However, KARE-TV reports that all students have been accounted for.
