Philadelphia fire leaves 1 dead, 4 injured: authorities
PHILADELPHIA — Authorities said one person is dead and four others, including three firefighters, are injured after a fire ripped through a row home in North Philadelphia, CBS Philadelphia reports. Flames broke out around 9 a.m. on Saturday and quickly grew to a two-alarm fire.
Fire officials said one civilian was killed in the blaze while another was critically injured. Authorities said three firefighters were also injured, including one critically. There was no immediate word on what caused the blaze.
At least one firefighter was injured and taken to Temple Hospital in stable condition, officials said. There are reports that a second firefighter was trapped inside the home after part of the floor collapsed.
The city’s Red Paw Emergency Relief Team posted an image of firefighters battling the blaze on Twitter.
